Arts Bank With A Bang

Just like last year a Cricket match held up between Arts faculty and Pharmacy department on Thursday 27 March at Jinnah University For Women.

                                                                              Arts Last year Runner-up, defeated Pharmacy by 43 runs by bowling them out for the lowest ever total of 47. Arts were thoroughly dominant in the match, they made 90 runs in just six overs .Fariya idress from Mass-communication first year were the highest run scorer.

Pharmacy have been crashing down to the earth.Their players lacked the aptitude against Arts bowlers and fielders.fielders. Fariya idress again put Pharm-D in trouble by her bowling. Hafsa Siddiqui ,Hiba Siddiqui also did outclass bowling performance and confirm Arts win.

Chief guest  Nasreen Jalil, Distributed medals among the players and presented Champions trophy to the Arts team.

El-Clasico: Brings Back Barca Into The Title Race

It's safe to say the newest chapter of El Clasico won't be forgotten for a very long time. 

Arguably the world's greatest rivalry, Real Madrid vs. Barcelona didn't even come close to disappointing-at least if you're a neutral fan—at the Bernabeu on Sunday night. The visitors eventually escaped with an epic 4-3 victory on the back of a Lionel Messi hat-trick, climbing to within one point of both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid atop the La Liga table.   

Barcelona took advantage of a Sergio Ramos red card, edging out their fierce rivals and closing the gap on them to one point, they also denied Madrid the opportunity of moving back into first at the expense of Atletico.

It was a game of supreme quality up until the point of Ramos’s dismissal, with the referee’s controversial decision to dismiss the Madrid skipper somewhat ruining what had been a fantastic spectacle.

Andres Iniesta opened the scoring after only seven minutes, taking advantage of Barca’s dominance in the opening stages.

Madrid’s response to going behind was almost instant and Real Madrid started to feed off the fantastic atmosphere at the Bernabeu.It was the first chance of many for Benzema and on twenty minutes he made amends for his earlier profligacy, crashing in a bullet header from  Di Maria's cross, blasting off the fingertips of Victor Valdes to level up the game.

Barca found a way back into the game just before half time, with Messi conjuring a bit of magic in the box to slide the ball past Diego Lopez, despite being surrounded by no less than five Madrid defenders.

When the half time whistle eventually came a few minutes later, it was unwelcome to the 400 million people who were gripped by one of the most fantastic 'Clasicos' in modern history.The second half brought more of the same from Real Madrid and Bale, Ronaldo, Di Maria and Benzema started to cause problems for Barcelona’s backline and Javier Mascherano in particular.

As Sergio Ramos pleaded with the referee for a red card for the Brazilian full back, believing Ronaldo was denied a clear goal scoring opportunity, replays showed that contact was outside of the box.

Nevertheless Ronaldo despatched his penalty with his typical clinical execution, tucking the ball away in the bottom left hand corner. 

With Madrid in the lead it was looking likely that the home side would take all three points , move back into first and extend their lead over Barcelona to seven points.

That is until the 63rd minute when Neymar broke through the Madrid backline only to go down under a challenge from Sergio Ramos when about to pull the trigger.

Replays showed that contact, if any, was light and Ramos was duly sent off for denying the Brazilian a clear goal scoring opportunity despite Madrid’s protestations that Marcelo was covering.

Messi stepped up and made no mistake from the spot, hammering the ball into the inside side netting and drawing Barca level.

Surviving the inevitable Barcelona was going to be a tough task for Madrid and sure enough in the 84th minute, Andres Iniesta drew a foul in the box from Xabi Alonso. Allowing Lionel Messi to complete his second hat-trick in as many games with a superb penalty.

It was a disappointing way to end the tie, with 10-man Real trying desperately to force their way back into the game but their numerical disadvantage was no match for Barca’s possession game.

Barca closed out the game in their usual pomp and gave their title bid a massive boost and sparked celebrations across the other side of Madrid, with Atletico remaining at the summit.

While many had written off Barca’s season and the future of Tata Martino, this result could prove to be a huge turning point in both the Catalans and Madrid’s seasons.

پہلی بار جب جمہوریت کے تختہ عامر ایوب خان نے پلٹا تو جالب چپ نہ رہا اس سے چپ رہنے کو کہا تو کہنے لگا،،

ظلمت کو ضیا، صر صر کو صبا، بندے کو خدا کیا لکھنا وقت بدلا ،آمریت کا اندھیری رات کا جمہوریت کی آزادی پر زوال ہوا لیکن جالب کے مطابق صرف ایوان اقتدار کی دیوراوں پر لگی آمرکی تصویر ہٹ کر قائد عوام کی سپوت کی تصویر آگئ ،،لیکن غریبوں کےگھروں میں فقر چلتا رہا فاقے چھائے رہے
جالب نے محلات میں بسنے والوں کو جب بھی جگایا،

حال اب تک وہی ہیں فقیرون کے

لیکن جالب صدائِیں لگاتے لگاتے1993 میں چلا گیا ،، عوامی نمائندوں کے کانوں پر نہ اس وقت جوں رینگی،نہ اب ،اب تک ٹاٹ پر سونے والی عوام کے ،،
شیر دل بےنظیر حکمران اعوان اقتدار میں کانوں میں رووئیاں ٹھوس کر نرم گداز بستروں پر سورہے ہیں
اور جالب کی آواز گونج  رہی ہے
آخر چلا ہی گیا  روٹھ کہ ہم فرزانون سےوہ دیوانہ جس کو زمانہ جالب جالب کہتا تھا                             

Pakistani Cinema Promoting Foreign Culture

In today’s world cinemas hold much importance in a society mostly because it gives the people the environment to get entertained largely because of the use of advance 3D technology and high definition projection screens that has attractive effect on people. A large group of people in society are seen heading to cinemas for their own respective purposes that include avoid being a loner, to enter the new folds of modernization, displacement of hardships and pressures in life, to be a part of cool movie gossips circulating the society. But have we think over that how cinemas has increasingly entered into our cultural customs which are our identity. Every now and then we see how the cinemas have attacked the audience with latest movies in an appealing and blown up manner. And the audience is consciously and unconsciously taking the effects of these movies that they are buying foreign culture and introducing them in our society. So our lifestyles, preferences, tastes and ways of interacting with society have changed. The cinemas of Pakistan are the good index of foreign culture and the main reason behind it is that they contribute the stuff of cultural life. The owners of the cinemas are much eager to get their hands on latest English and Indian movies than Pakistani movies which are rare ,for they have a know how that they have frequent cinema attendees helping them in generating larger incomes for them.

Pakistani cinemas are more focused towards income parts and are mostly targeting the elite class with higher ticket purchasing powers and do not bother to deal time slots to show Pakistani movies that were once the beauty of Pakistani cinemas such as Armaan , Dosti  etc which help in refreshing and reminding the spirit of  Pakistani culture. When cinemas are used for brand promotions purposes then why not they can be used for cultural promotion purposes. It would serve as a motivation to our present generation to be well familiar with our culture norms. Movies like Bol and Waar do create a buzz in Pakistani cinema markets once or twice in a year but even these movies were seen by the cultural critics as giving an exaggerated false picture of Pakistani culture emphasizing on abuse of women, homeless children and widespread terrorism. The frequent screening of western and Indian movies by cinema houses has made cinemas their cultural mirror. As a result westernized trends and Indian rituals and culture have so deeply interfered into our culture that the social values and Islamic values in our society have faded away.

Going to cinemas is good for rejoicing. It is fun to watch movie scenes with blissful movie fans but we should not adopt the foreign culture shown through films in our local society and should be keen in protecting our culture. The cinemas also need to be sensitive to cultural issues when deciding on screening of different movies.

WHERE TO GO???

Every single child or a person had an aim to become a doctor, engineer, and teacher and so on. So I also have my aim in life too. When I was in school and had a task to write a write-up on my aims in life. There is one thing that why teachers always ask to write essay on my aims in life. It’s such a big a problem for the multi-talented persons. But I wrote in an essay that my aim is to become a businessman. Oops! Sorry business women. Because I was inspired by my father, he is a businessman.

When I came into 7^th standard again the English Teacher asked to write on the old rusty topic that what is your aim in life.  Hats off to me suddenly my aim in life changed and I wanted to become a software engineer because my chacho is an engineer. I worked hard and harder to get my aim came true.

 I passed out my school with the similar aim but when the college admissions got start and have to think which way to go, which field I have to select unexpectedly my aim changed. My aim to become an engineer was suddenly blown in air because I came to know that beside computer I have to studied physics and chemistry. Something struck in my mind when I came to known that. I thought I am already a brain so I don’t need to prove it by solving derivation using newton’s laws and by balancing chemical equations.

I decided to make commerce my field. Yeh! I know it’s too boring but, I want to become a friend of accounting and mathematics. But shortly I came to know that minus (-) plus (+) are not true friends they always create problems for you and accounting oh! It was dreadful meeting with accounting.

Actually followers I am too much active and energetic therefore such type of boring things doesn't

attracts me. I want to do something different, energetic and challenging in such field in which I enjoy a lot. That should be belongs to my nature. So I took admission in mass communication, the field of journalism or
as we know science faculty used to call us “fariq log movie dekhe k paper deyte hain”. I thought that finally I found my dream field.

But again confusion grabbed me again which way to go, either electronics, advertising or print media. Na baba na! Not print media. I don’t like it, I am little bit interested in electronics and advertising and I am also good in photography now what to do?

Confusion, confusion, confusion and in this way my aims in fife become confusion in life. Any of you council me but please don’t start boring career council seminar. I don’t like such seminars where lunch and certificate are not given.

  RIVALS IN ACTION 

The big match is going to be played tomorrow ,big moments  are about to be come ,Oppositions are polishing their weapons , Bats and balls are just the physical  things which are visible in ground . The gestures , feelings ,sensational emotions  and the nerve breaking match  is the true competition which will end on happy moments and  the grief on one side ,but this grief will not let that side sit till another win .

Yes Pakistan and Indians are again playing in Mirpur Dhaka Sher e Bangla stadium. Is the World best bowling side is ready to shred the the good batting line up of India . World T20 opening match will be played tomorrow , Cracking shots ,smashing hits ,spectacles catches and brilliant bold will put the fire in the ground .

Lets look at back ,how many times these matches had been played                ,and how many have been won by the green shirts . History says that      

     Pakistan has never won the battle against India in world cup matches            weather  50 overs or it is the matter of T twenty .
           But now the history will change. tomorrow  will change the-yesterday .We all have a wish to smash India tomorrow , But Can team Pakistan do that , Can professor eleven perform that well to fulfill our well wishes Can the team who got all out yesterday on 71 runs will keep the honor of the confident and pride .As we won in Asia cup ,that defaet could be repeated on Indian side by us ,or Indians will turn the tables .
